on the dark and thunderous night of september third, a beautiful baby girl was born into the wizarding world of england. strong lungs filled the air with screams as the infant was pulled from her mother, immediately informing all that were there of her presence. the infant donned a head of lustrous dark brown locks with piercing blue eyes, healthy and happy, she was born into the infamous lestrange family, the presumed first born child of the young, notorious rabastan lestrange and the future blood traitor, andromeda black. it was unknown at the time that the recent addition to the lestrange family was infact the illegitimate daughter of rabastan's brother, rodolphus lestrange, the man that andromeda once loved and had a heated, passionate night with, the true father to the bundle of joy.on that day, the unmarried couple named their angelic daughter, regan clarisse lestrange and thus her life began.in the beginning of her life, regan was a happy, thriving child, adored by all, especially by her uncle rodolphus lestrange and of course her mother. some said she was the spitting image of her mother, a little replica, they were that a like, their relationship was a bond that was stronger than anything, one you would think could not be broken. at the very young age of one, regan immediately began to reveal her magical abilities with the odd spark of fire or an item turning into something else, but the power she truly possessed was not shown until the day her mother disappeared from her life without a word or explanation. when she was only three years old, regan returned home with her nanny from the magical daycare she attended to find her father in his study, smashing bottles of whiskey against the flames of the fire in a fit of rage; she did not understand why until she realised her mother was gone, not a trace of her anywhere and in that moment, being so young and confused, the uncontrolled magic erupted inside of her and without being able to stop herself, she burnt down the entire left wing of the lestrange manor, the rooms she would spend most of her time with her mother, eradicating all the memories she had of the woman that abandoned her with the father she had no connection with, perhaps her relationship with andromeda was not as strong as she thought.through the years after andromeda had left them, rabastan sought out the company of many woman and soon found himself a new companion, one of which he found himself falling deeply in love with and doing the one thing he didn't quite have a chance to do with andromeda - married her. after losing her mother, regan, although she had a new female presence in her life, did not feel an attachment to her new step mother, in fact she went out of her way to push the woman away; no one could replace andromeda and regan, as much as rabastan tried, was not going to accept his new bride. the relationship with rabastan and his wife only strained further when the two received the news they were expecting, regan, although the thought of having a younger brother or sister was wonderful, was not pleased - rabastan was getting everything he had wanted with his new family, would he still want her? after all, she was the daughter of the woman that disowned him, the daughter that looked exactly like the woman that broke his heart, she was a constant reminder of what the lestrange wizard had lost.upon turning eleven and after receiving her acceptance letter into the most famous magical school in the wizarding world, hogwarts, regan was more than ready to get away from the family she was trapped with and begin the new chapter of her life. being a lestrange naturally caused her to be sorted into slytherin and after what had happened in her past, regan embraced the darkness that poisoned her veins, caging the light that resonated from her mother and holding onto the legacy her father and his brother set before her. it was difficult at times as being a lestrange put fear into everyone that crossed her path and although she did enjoy the darkness, the tiny amount of light seeped through it confinements and gave her that reason to make the right friends and concentrate on her grades, she accepted the legacy her father left behind but she also did want to make a name for herself, set her own destiny and not just follow in the footsteps of former lestranges, she was her own person. four years on from her admittance into hogwarts, regan had settled well, she had made the right friends, still striking fear into those that tried to cross her but not truly embracing the full lestrange lifestyle ⸻ all the while being completely unaware that her younger sibling, born to andromeda and edward tonks had joined her at hogwarts, her mother having been pregnant when she left after having an affair with edward. in fact, as she was so happy and settled, she had done something a true lestrange would dare not do as it was frowned upon and to them an offence, the witch had fallen in love with a muggleborn.ezekiel hemming, born to ophelia and nathaniel hemming on a radiant, sunny day in july was a muggleborn wizard sorted into gryffindor. he was raised in a tiny town in london, knowing nothing but love from his parents. his heart was the purest and he was the kindest man regan had ever met. the moment she laid eyes on him, she knew it was love but it was not so easy for her to express how she felt thanks to her upbringing. she was a confident woman but when it came to expressions of the heart, she stumbled. after a month, regan finally plucked up the courage to ask ezekiel out and to her surprise, despite who she was and the people she was associated with and related to, he said yes. it was the first time the witch had felt so nervous but the time she spent with ezekiel was more than magical and it fuelled the light, giving it the reason to finally break from its cage, controlling the darkness inside her once again - regan had never felt so much love before. the love she had for ezekiel was the reason she kept their relationship a secret, she knew how her family felt towards muggles and for her to fall in love with one was treason to the lestrange family, she finally was beginning to feel true happiness and the light was returning to her life, she didn't want anything to take that away like when her mother abandoned her. that pain was something she never wanted to feel again.as she reached her seventh year, regan was over achieving in all of her classes and she was more than happy with ezekiel but what she didn't know was that was the year her world would be turned upside down. it was the year, her younger sister, camille lestrange, the apple of rabastan's eye joined hogwarts and of course, she too was placed into slytherin, making it harder for regan to keep the secrets that she had hidden, her brother lucien, who already attended hogwarts had never bothered with his sister, he left her to do what she wanted. the sister she had tried to build a relationship with, despised her to no fault of her own and was always digging to find something she could tell their father about and finally she had something. she had caught regan and ezekiel kissing by the lake when they thought they were out of sight of everyone and without a second thought the younger lestrange immediately reported what she had seen to her father, setting in stone the destruction of regan's life. there was no time wasted between rabastan finding out the truth and the young couple being ripped from their school and thrown into the dark and dingy basement of the lestranges alternative property. the once happy, loved up couple was tortured for hours on end by the henchmen rabastan had hired, punches were thrown, curses were said, bodies writhing and screams echoing in the room - regan had never felt so much pain and all for just falling in love with a man that was not born a pureblood. the moment came when regan felt her heart shatter into thousands of pieces as she witnessed the man she loved fall lifeless against the floor with one final blow - his body slashed and beaten, regan witnessed his final breath leaving his lips as she was forced to watch the man she loved die, powerless and unable to help him. this was the lengths her family, unbeknownst to her, would go to, to keep their line pure, muggles were nothing but filth, bottom feeders in their eyes, they were not worth the love or even time of a lestrange. leaving her in the room with her lover, regan could do nothing but cry before she finally passed out from the injuries and heartache she had endure. her life would never be the same again, she was truly destroyed.waking up days later, regan was back in the lestrange manor, rabastan at her bedside as he acted the hero, having claimed that he had searched for her when the headmaster of hogwarts had reported her and the boy missing. what she didn't know was he had orchestrated the entire thing and was behind the death of the love of her life. the downward spiral of the young witches life began as she truly embraced her lestrange heritage, all that was left of the light was snuffed out and she faded into the darkness becoming more like her father each day. with the darkness swallowing her whole, there seemed to be no hope for regan and it only worsened when her step mother, a woman that held her own secrets "accidently" revealed that rabastan was the reason ezekiel was dead and that ignited the true hatred for the man that she thought was her father and the sister she once cherished, they were not the family she had once loved, that was truly destroyed and her heart was broken in two for a second time. she knew now that he never really loved her, she wanted nothing more to do with the man or those of his family that betrayed her.broken, with no where else to go, regan did what she never thought she would do and she tracked down her mother - although the woman had left her, she knew she was once loved by her and now she had no one else to go to, no where else to live. she was afraid of being lost forever and becoming just like the man that had ruined her life. finding her mother, she felt those nerves again, she had not seen andromeda for just over eleven years, so many questions rushed through her head, she was struggling to find the courage to knock on her door and was all but ready to turn and run when a figure emerged from the garden, a man who clearly knew who she was as he dropped the cup of tea that he was holding in his hand. it was no surprise that her mother had moved on with her life, she had married the man she truly loved, edward tonks, rekindling the relationship they had started all those years ago whilst at hogwarts - she was never meant to be with rabastan, that was a relationship she thought she needed and she only stayed due to falling pregnant with regan, even though she was not truly rabastan's, he thought otherwise and andromeda had no choice but to stay. the moment she had her chance and despite having to leave her daughter behind with a deranged monster, andromeda escaped the clutches of the lestrange heir and found comfort with ted, the man she had been seeing behind rabastan's back all along. once the couple knew they were safe and away from the tyranny of the lestranges, they wed and started their lives again, happy for once and they were able to expand their family with an unusual but beautiful baby girl, nymphadora tonks - a clumsy, quirky, metamorphagus. andromeda wanted to return and bring regan home, but she was too afraid, she knew what rabastan would do to her.welcomed into the tonks home, regan sat down with her mother's family - it was awkward of course, but where else could she go and it was hard but she had missed her mother so very much. she had told andromeda everything that her father had done and the woman was not surprised by his antics, rabastan was a beast and he would do anything to keep the lestrange name pure, the family line pure and even though regan was not his daughter and he had come to learn of this information, he would not have her loving a muggle, no one in his family would love a filthy mudblood - he had no regrets having her tortured, in his mind, it would teach her a lesson and he also thought of it as revenge on his brother from taking joy of being regan's father from him. andromeda, seeing how hurt her daughter was did not want to keep any more secrets from her and that was the moment she had revealed that rabastan was in fact not her father, it was rodolphus lestrange. she knew he wasn't any better than rabastan but she thought regan should know the truth if they wanted to fix their broken relationship - no secrets would be kept between them, anymore. the truth shocked regan but the witch had no more hate in her and she chose to forgive her mother, in honesty, she didn't blame andromeda for keeping the secret of who her father really was from her, rabastan, if he had found out while still with her, would have ended her life in a blink of an eye. she was lucky to have escaped when she did and now the lestranges didn't know where she was.it was then, regan made the decision to stay with her mother and her new family, she wanted to get to know ted and nymphadora and build that relationship with them as they were the ones she should have been with all along, they were the family she was meant to have and she had to make up for lost time. settling back into a normal life, regan returned to school but to remain hidden from the lestranges, she changed her surname to tonks and she did not return to hogwarts, she instead enrolled in the french school, beauxbatons and completed her final year - this time, she concentrated only on her studies and didn't engage in any friendships or relationships - she did not want to feel any more heartache as she would not be able to handle it.graduating from school, she returned to her mother's home and decided it was finally time to confront rodolphus, she knew the reason now why he was so involved in her childhood but she wanted to hear it from the man himself, she wanted to hear him admit that he was her father. leaving her family after knowing they would remain safe, she sort out rodolphus and demanded the truth from the older lestrange, she thought he would deny everything but to her surprise he admitted he was her father and that he had always tried to be apart of her life, rabastan had just pushed him away. she knew rodolphus was not a kind man and he was a killer, being just as bad as his brother, if not worse but at least the man actually did love her and was willing to be her father, she was could build a relationship with him but despite their relationship strengthening, regan saw edward as her father now.life was starting to move onto the straight and narrow for regan, she had a relationship with her mother, her step father and her half sister, their bonds were strong and she even had a relationship with her father. she still had darkness within her, that was just what came with being a lestrange and at times it would come out but she also had the light from her mother flickering inside of her and this time there was no chance of it being snuffed out.
